Healthcare Professional Services Consultant (Remote / Travel Position)


We are looking for a full-time permanent employee to become part of a growing consultancy with specific Healthcare expertise.

As a Healthcare Professional Services Consultant, you will likely participate in the initial discovery phase to understand the high-level pain points, business model and operation model of the client.  You will then work as part of a team Consultants and Project Managers to define and scope all optimization opportunities across the company's operating model.  Finally, you will engage in a long term implementation project to drive the changes that were presented during the analysis.  
Qualifications:
We are looking for well-qualified candidates who can confidently support their experience across most of these areas:

  • Five or more years of professional (post-academic) work experience
  • One or more years of experience in a management consulting role
  • Two or more years of experience in the healthcare industry – ideally having worked with payers, TPAs, providers, labs, RCM and/or HIT organizations
  • Experience as a hiring manager or supervisor in a sales, service or operations role outside of consulting would be a PLUS
  • An MBA from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 school would also be a PLUS

Professional Experience

  • Hands on experience with the development and implementation of operating models:
    • Process improvement initiatives
    • Organizational redesign
    • Geo-footprint, labor arbitrage and multi-site location optimization
    • End-user technology assessments
    • Supply Chain, Procurement and Partner management programs
    • Management systems (standard process and toolsets for managers)
  • Leading groups within a matrixed organization, some of whom may be remote and/or client staff members
  • Implementing change management initiatives to reduce costs, increase revenue and/or improve service levels in client organizations

Professional Skills

  • Ability to travel to client sites (typically Monday – Thursday) on a weekly basis
  • Strong understanding of PHI and HIPAA protections
  • Strong written, oral and analytical skills
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Initiative and drive
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to deliver time-pressured projects on-time and on-quality
  • Flexible and creative thinking
