Restaurant Systems Administrator

Primary Responsibilities.
Works independently with assigned brand to perform the following:

  • Serve on Brand Team as liaison for IT change management and support
  • Gather and organize menu/product information, from other business areas, to administer restaurant systems' changes ensuring proper pricing, routing and flow of data to above restaurant applications
  • Perform all POS item maintenance: menu changes, promotion configuration, price and category management for assigned brand
  • Create, update, and deactivate recipes in the Back-Office System
  • Provide information for communication for Restaurant System Updates: menu updates, promotions, raw ingredients, inventory items, and configuration/reporting changes
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements for all facets of menu data administration and database maintenance
  • Perform quality assurance testing including, but not limited to: new requests, enhancements, etc.
  • Provide escalation support and problem-solving for all software and hardware functions of the Restaurant Systems
  • Ensure a high standard of support to the restaurant locations regarding restaurant systems, while maintaining system and data integrity
  • Maintain restaurant systems securities – user maintenance, versions, best practices
  • Provide secondary support for POS item maintenance: menu changes, promotion configuration, price and category management for all DFRG brands
  • Create and maintain restaurant systems control and database maintenance documentation
  • Provide new restaurant opening support
  • Maintain existing corporate POS lab environment
  • Prepare and present regular change management status reports

Technical Knowledge/ Skills/Attributes:

  • 3+ years' experience POS Administration
  • 2+ years restaurant management experience
  • 2+ years college education
  • Versed in POS database management including, including but not limited to site setup, menu creation, promotion configuration, and pricing methodologies
  • Comfortable with change and ability to be flexible
  • Tenacity for accuracy
  • Passion for providing high level of support to the restaurant operators
  • Works effectively in team and independent environment
  • Self-starter with willingness to work hands-on; ability to work autonomously
  • Experience using menu management or inventory systems
  • Excellent planning, organization and communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills:  recognize, analyze and resolve effectively
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal and nonverbal
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to sit for an extended period, typing and looking at a computer screen.  May also require some reaching, bending, and lifting.
  • Restaurant visits – walking, standing and lifting up to 40 pounds and climb ladders and stairs
  • Potential Travel up to 5% of the time
