Senior MODA Systems Analyst (relocation assistance available)

The Senior MODA Systems Lab Analyst will:

  • Serve as subject matter expert for all assigned technical areas
  • Collaborate with system analysts and subject matter experts across sites, on support of applications
  • Provide technical and end-user support of laboratory applications and systems, with a primary focus on:
    • MODA-EM
    • MODA-FDC
    • Waters ELN
  • Aim to resolve 95% of break / fix issues locally with the Super User Network. Escalate more complex issues to 3rd level support
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders external to IT
    • Effectively collaborate to identify improvement opportunities
    • Facilitate creative problem solving and knowledge sharing
  • Collaborate with R&D business functions, QC, IT Infrastructure, and QA/Validation to identify and implement IT solutions to meet current and future business needs
  • Manage small-scale projects to develop, test, and release enhancements across lab automation systems 
  • Anticipate major customer needs, analyze impact of new technology, and provide recommendations resulting in value-added solutions that meet the customer's needs
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining system life cycle documentation within Quality Management Systems including but not limited to: Validation Specifications, SOPs, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Lead technical projects and resolve highly complex, difficult problems
    • Assist in systems documentation, organization, testing, and auditing
  • Ensure that key roles in the super user network are clearly identified, training plans in place with an eye to developing succession plans for key super user roles.
  • Work with Super Users and Site Management on approaches for business continuity
  • Coordinate with Learning & Development to provide training to super users and end users in how to be effective within applications. Taking into consideration business priorities, trends, and corrective actions from root cause analysis. Makes clear to management any gaps that may exist around training.
  • Maintain computer applications which includes required upgrades, documentation and validation
    • Schedule downtime with IT and end users, along with notifications and documentation

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelors (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Biology, Bioinformatics, Chemistry, or other related field. Master's degree is a plus.

  • 5-8 years previous experience in supporting laboratory applications with an increasing scope of responsibility
  • Strategic planning and execution
  • Previous experience in the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industries preferred
  • Delivering technical solutions across multiple business groups and geographical locations
  • Documenting detailed requirements, user stories, business processes, and technical specifications

Technical Knowledge/Skills Needed:

  • Practical knowledge of Environmental Monitoring, Electronic Laboratory Notebooks, data visualization platforms, Laboratory Execution Systems, SDMS, and integration technologies
  • Strong knowledge of master data management & business process
  • Knowledge of laboratory environments (i.e., HPLCs, GC's, Empower, NuGenesis SDMS, LIMS…) preferred
  • Anticipates unique customer service needs and plans support accordingly
  • Project management and technical lead experience
  • Ability to manage technical issues and root cause analysis across various applications and tools
  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Basic GAMP5 and Computer System Validation strategies
  • Basic GxP, Part 11, and Annex 11 knowledge and experience working within those frameworks
